The Tree
Lonely.
Her solitary voice
Lost in the wind, forgotten.
Frightened,
Branches flailing.
Silently trembling in the cold
Caring.
Leaves caressing
The life cradled in her arms.
Handsome.
Standing proud
Even through all her battles.
The beauty of nature.
It revives us,
Making life worth living.
Night comes once more,
Weary she sleeps.
Lonely.
Her solitary voice
Lost in the wind, forgotten.
Frightened,
Branches flailing.
Silently trembling in the cold
Caring.
Leaves caressing
The life cradled in her arms.
Handsome.
Standing proud
Even through all her battles.
The beauty of nature.
It revives us,
Making life worth living.
Night comes once more,
Weary she sleeps.
