Nur Izyan 2A06

The picture consists of a tree branch in the foreground being held back by a green plastic rope. The colour of the rope is green, as well as the leaves surrounding it. From this I interpret that man is helping to hold nature together, however it does not want to be recognised for its good deeds. This is so because, the green colour of the rope camouflaging together with the green leaves surrounding it makes it unnoticeable at a glance gives me the impression such that Man intends to execute his good deeds discreetly.

Ultimately, my immediate opinion to this picture would be that the rope which is holding back the broken and falling branches shows how man intends to help nature, which in this case would be holding it together from falling apart. The branches could have obstructed the road if it had fallen. My interpretation would be that nature has the tendency to destroy or obstruct man’s creations. However, man would still be able to rectify the problem, which in this case would be restricting the tree branch falling onto the road.
Therefore in conclusion, this picture depicts how when nature decides to spoil man’s inventions, man is still intelligent enough to overcome the problem and that man is also discreet in his actions.

In the foreground of this photo there is a bench whereas in the background there are four palm trees standing tall watching over the bench. I interpret it as whoever who sits on that bench, is taking time to appreciate nature’s beauty. However the chair is empty. I assume that man is too busy to do so.

The dark colour of the palm tree portrays the sadness and disappointment of nature that man is neglecting it unlike how they used to back during the Romantic period. Whereas the brightness of the chair seems to give an inviting feeling to whoever who passes by the bench, to sit down and look at the beauty of nature

However, it is ironic that the bench is a manmade object, yet its own kind does not make use of it. On the other hand, it also reveals that man has its efforts to promote the appreciation of nature to its own kind.

From this perspective, it shows a tree behind a fence. I took the photo in such a way because I feel that we are so detached from nature. Like how I’ve read the poems written by the romantics where they seem to be entranced by nature’s beauty that I feel the lack in the experience of being with nature to actually experience what the romantics had seen and felt. So at the point when I saw the tree surrounded by a fence, I felt that it was apt as to how I feel. The feeling of having something that prevents me from going in to the compound to be with nature. The fence in this case would be my mundane cycle of life. I find myself doing the same thing every single day. Hence I think that it is due to man’s nature to compete with each other to survive that results in a mundane lifestyle (for which would be referring to school) that we neglect what’s left of the nature around us.

From the picture, I also interpreted that the fence surrounding the tree was a form of protective measure. In my opinion, it seems that man is again trying to protect the tree from being touched by the visitors to the park. It instils the visitor that nature should be left untouched. Instead they should just admire the beauty from afar and leave nature as it is.
