Prologue
The theme of my poem is the normal cycles of nature and how we do not see its beauty in itself. When I first saw the web, it reminded me of the cycles of life and nature. The picture was of a huge spider web that has captured a lot of ants and insects within. It may seem cruel but the sight of it was beautiful to me, the way the web was craftily weaved. I thought then of the web as man and the insects as nature; how we engulf them until they die and are not seen for their true beauty, how we stop them in their tracks from further growing, from further showing how beautiful they are. When the normal activities of nature are further looked into, man then realize how wonderful nature is; even though it is around us everyday, we are blind to nature because we are just busy with thinking of what more we can achieve with what we can get from nature.

Nature as it is
Gives man that much ease
The wind blows through our hair
Yet we pollute their air
The trees, they let us breathe
Yet we kill their leaves and heave
Just nature as it is
Somehow we are not pleased

So wondrous it can be
But our eyes just won’t let us see
The cycles of nature
Bring forth new and amusing creatures
Creatures that we discover
Creatures that are not uncovered
Creatures that we explore
Creatures that we destroy
Angels that we deem beautiful
Monsters that we say are hideous
Somehow we do not see
How wondrous nature can be

Spiders are spinning
Stems are whining
The wind is howling
Creatures are crying
The sky is tearing
The clouds are blackening
The grass is browning
The ocean is killing

Insects are curling
Birds are packing
Leaves are sulking
Flowers are frowning
The fishes are shrinking
But man are booming
Time is passing
But we are still enjoying

Nature as it is
Just isn’t as it is
After we have done all these
We choke ourselves
And blame the air
We eat poisoned fishes
And we blame the sea
Our statues get corroded
And we blame the sky
Our crops are bad
And we blame the land
Nature is dying
But oh!
We blame anything but ourselves
Just nature as it is
