This is an image of a stone trail which is directed away from the concrete path through a big patch of grass with tall towering bamboos on both sides of the trail. This man-made stone trail may also be used for foot reflexology.

This image can show both harmony and conflict between nature and urban landscape. With nature surrounding this trail, we can have our foot massage as well as appreciate nature at the same time. So in this case, it shows the harmony between nature and urban landscape. However, by building this stone trail, patches of grass and trees have to be removed to make way for it. This shows the destruction of nature for Man's own benefit. In this case, we removed nature for our own relaxation.

But despite this conflict between Nature and Man, Nature is of great importance to Man. It is in fact nature that truly make us feel relax. Nature brings life and beauty to our world. Without nature, the urban landscape alone will give us a dull world.

This picture portrays the pillars of a shelter at one part of the pathway made up of metal poles with a towel hung on one of the pillars. There are also few kinds of plants, mainly vines dangling from the pillars.

It is a significant image as it shows how nature still coexist with Man. This shelter is built for the benefit of Man. It acts as a resting stop for us. The towel hanging on the pole is a simple way to illustrate Man's reliance on technology. The towel, most likely a worker's, is placed there for the worker's convenience. Similarly, the vines crept on the pillar for support and enable it to reach for sunlight more easily. This shows that nature do rely on us for survival.

Nature in urban society today continues to coexists with Man like before. In fact, both Nature and Man have to depend on each other for survival. With all the materialistic progress, Nature is still able to adapt to the new changes of the world. It shows how powerful Nature is and has a strong will to survive after all that Man has done to it.

This picture depicts a construction site for near the end of the Botanic Garden. There is a sign placed on the barricade which says "MRT: Coming Your Way" and another which says "Danger. Keep Out". Leaves can be seen on either sides of the picture near the barricade.

As we all know, MRT is a form of transport for us. For the construction, a large plot of land has to be cleared. Thus, it shows the conflict between Nature and the urban society today. Nature is being destroyed for Man's benefit. Also, Nature is helpless and Man continues to destroy it for his own benefits. The plants around the barricade show that they can only look on at Man's destructive acts that destroy them and could not do anything about it.

Man's actions have greatly affect Nature since the Industrial Revolution. Although Nature had already begun its revenge on Man, we still continue to harm Nature with our materialistic progress. It has already reached a point where Man and Nature could no longer coexist with each other peacefully like the past.
